MISTAKES.

mistakes? no need to panic.
then again, a little panic
maybe just what doctor ordered.
knowing one's limitations
saves one from failure.
a feeling of accomplishment;
boosting one's ego.

stepping gingerly, not disturbing
nature's wondrous work.
not to destroy all nature has achieved
in many eons of evolution.
nature humans so very much love.
hello, Nature, please forgive us
for our wanton destruction.

was a psychopath in another life.
less drama, now in this life.
anger does not become us.
anything can look suspicious,
if one looks for suspicion
everywhere one looks.
nothing eloquent about suspicion.

too much in thick of things
too late changing direction now
but now is all there is
and its tomorrow now
and if we talk her into
pulling that old plow
we'll finish plowing
that last acre today
after she feeds me
and our six kids.

this not how Charles Bukowski would do this,
but one Charles Bukowski, every century, or so,
is quite enough.
