SQUABBLES

squabbles; his and hers.
it's a team effort.
not exactly a dream
team, but life goes on,
doesn't it? 

sonorous? okay, but
if I start sounding
usually lame, or
looking done in,
all bets are off.

unfortunately,
he proves to be
hard fellow to follow.
even harder to pin down.

always leading us a
merry chase. 
circle jerk attitude.
read him his rights.

and now, vehemence
clutching poet's last
poem, as if one last
dying breath.

suffering humiliation as
hysterical incidents rising;
ruining an otherwise
delicious occasion forming

while civilization suffering
overgrowth and construction craze,
while depicting prosperity 
as a saving force prevailing. 

inexperienced kids;
drugs and booze.
never has a change
growing up.

bogeyman got them.
obit pages fill;
graveyards fill;
filling fast;
much too fast-so fast. 

the night was quiet.
the day was not;
clatter, clatter, clatter;
rattle, rattle, rattle.
